Allison Creek Presbyterian Church, built in 1854, contains on it’s property, the “Clay Hill Graveyard,” where you’ll find grave sites of former enslaved and freed Blacks. The church balcony still contains pews constructed by the enslaved who also attended the church. After the Emancipation Proclamation, the freed left York, SC for Liberia, Africa. The church has placed a historical marker in front of the church’s mini-chapel commemorating those pioneers and their historic trip. Today, the church has a sister relationship with a church in Monrovia, Liberia.

JUNE 22 – Doors open at 5:30 PM; music at 6 PM
