Historic Brattonsville – Annual Sheep Shearing Day

Interpreters at the living history museum will be shearing the Gulf Coast Heritage Sheep and demonstrating, throughout the day, how raw woolen fleece is processed for carding, spinning, dyeing with natural indigo, and weaving into finished garments.

Also, the plantation has newborn lambs this spring! Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day on the 778-acre site that includes farmed land with an assortment of heritage breed animals, a Revolutionary War battlefield site, a nature preserve with miles of walking trails, and more!

Admission: Adult $6; Senior $5; Youth 4-17 $3; CHM members and children 3 and under admitted FREE.
