The Rock Hill # 111 Masonic Lodge at 130 Elizabeth Lane, will be celebrating 150 years Saturday, December 3rd. Although there is no historical marker, the masonic body of men and their families has been in Rock Hill long before it became a city. The Grand Lodge of South Carolina will be joining local brothers, their families and the public in a re-dedication ceremony that we’d love for you to be a part of.
The working tools of a Master Mason are all the tools of Masonry, indiscriminately, but more especially the Trowel.
The trowel is an instrument made use of by operative masons to spread the cement which unites the building into one common mass; but we as Free and Accepted Masons, are taught to make use of it for the more noble and glorious purpose of spreading the cement of brotherly love and affections; the cement which unites us into one sacred band, or society of friends and brothers, among whom no contention should ever exist, but that noble contention, or rather emulation, of who best can work and best agree.
We will be enjoying a meal and fellowship, followed by a re-dedication ceremony performed by The Grand Lodge of South Carolina with tours of the lodge and plenty of Q&A about Masonry in South Carolina.
