Historic Brattonsville – Sheep Shearing Day
1444 Brattonsville Road, Rock Hill, SC
http://www.chmuseums.org
The 800-acre Carolina back-country Brattonsville Plantation has new spring lambs and an assortment of
heritage breed animals! The Gulf Coast sheep will be getting an 18th century-style shearing on “Sheep Shearing Family Day.” Along with hand-shearing the heritage breed sheep, there will be demonstrations on the many processes of turning raw wool into finished textiles. Period-dressed interpreters will be busy sorting the wool and then cleaning, carding, spinning, dyeing, weaving and sewing throughout the day. The annual family-friendly event will have spring lambs and other furry farm animals to pet.
MAY 11 from 10 AM to 4 PM
