This monument is on the corner of Black Street and Dave Lyle Boulevard in downtown Rock Hill, where the historic African-American Business District was located until its demolition in the early 1970’s. The monument pays tribute to the businesses that served the African-American community, recalling the storefront look of “days gone by” with historical images and references. The monument has also become an educational resource for the community.
Parking is available at the municipal parking lot on the corner of Dave Lyle Blvd. and Black Street, directly across from the monument.
