Made up of seven counties in the north central area of the state, the Olde English District received its name because of the region’s early settlement by the English in the mid 1770s. There were a number of Revolutionary War battles fought in the area as well, and historical sites, markers, parks, buildings, and monuments offer hundreds of ways to enjoy and re-live history.
