The Piedmont Medical Center Trail, located in the Riverwalk community, is part of the Carolina Thread Trail and offers scenic views of the Catawba River. The trail is 10 ft. wide, and it is a 2 ¼ mile trail in and 2 ¼ mile back out. (It does not form a loop.)
The trail 
is a shared use trail allowing for walking/running and biking. Pets are allowed on a 3’ leash. The speed limit for bicycles is 10 mph. The trail is handicapped accessible and is monitored by park staff.
There are flat areas as well as uphill and downhill stretches with steep grades. Along the trail are benches, garbage cans, pet stations, and bridges. Restrooms are located at the parking lot.
